  1. Plan the story, shot by shot

    Describe the video you want to make, then shape an editable scene plan. Give each shot its own action, camera direction, and duration. Start with a small sequence: establish a place, focus on a detail, and leave the viewer with a final moment. You can adjust the plan before committing to generated media.

    Keep character and scene references alongside your direction, so you can return to them as the project develops. Director brings the plan and its media into one workspace. You can add shots as your idea grows without starting a new project or rebuilding the shots you already have.

  2. Build a storyboard you can approve

    Create or upload opening and closing frames for each shot. These images let you review the subject, setting, composition, and visual direction before rendering motion. If a frame does not fit the story, revise it first. Approve the pair when you are ready to move on to video.

    Storyboard images and video are priced separately. Review the price before each generation. References and frame approval give you a practical way to guide visual continuity, while keeping the creative decisions in your hands. Review the results for the consistency your project needs.

  3. Generate motion and choose your takes

    Bring approved frames into motion with per-shot video generation. Review the credit price before rendering, then follow each shot’s progress in the project. You can work on individual shots instead of regenerating the entire sequence whenever you want to change a moment.

    Keep earlier video versions available as you refine a take. Compare the results and select the version that belongs in your film. A new video generation is a new paid take; selecting a completed version reuses work you already have. If one shot fails, completed shots stay available while you resolve it.

  4. Arrange, trim, and export your film

    Put the selected clips in story order and trim the moments you want to keep. A short opening, a longer detail shot, or a quieter closing beat can change the rhythm without generating new video. Assemble your selected clips into an MP4 and download the final cut.

    Export uses the existing clips you selected. Reordering and trimming do not trigger another video generation. Your brief, storyboard frames, and video versions stay together in the Director project, so you can revisit the decisions behind the cut when you return to it.

What can I make with AI Video Director?

Use it for a product story, a character-led scene, a short atmospheric film, or a sequence built around a place or craft. Write the brief in your own words and choose the references that matter to the project. You control the story and review the generated images and motion as you go.

Are there prompt or content restrictions?

TongAI has no prompt restrictions, including for adult creative themes. That creative freedom operates within the Acceptable Use Policy and Terms. Illegal, non-consensual, exploitative, and rights-infringing uses are prohibited. Model providers may also decline requests under their own policies.

How is Video Director priced?

Each completed storyboard image is charged individually, including new versions. Video is priced by the second. The workspace shows the current credit price before generation. Can I use my own storyboard images?

Yes. Upload opening and closing images for a shot, or create them in Director. Review and approve the frames before rendering video. You should have permission to use the images and any identifiable people they depict. Keep your visual references with the project to guide later revisions.

How is this different from Create Video or Frames?

Director organizes a multi-shot story from planning through assembly. Create Video and Frames remain available for their existing generation workflows in TongAI Studio. Do I need editing experience?
