Before you begin
- A signed-in account with available credits.
- A story brief, script or saved film conversation.
What you’ll achieve:
Model choices
Settings lets you choose image and video models for this conversation. Default follows Tong’s current defaults. Model capabilities, content policies and prices still apply, including for unrestricted workflows.
Attach the reference video
Open Add references in Film maker. Upload your supported source or choose it from Library, then wait until it is ready to use.

Explain what the reference should guide
Describe whether the reference guides pacing, composition, appearance or story structure. State the original characters and events you want in your film.

Review the observations
Read the analysis in the conversation and correct uncertain details. Visual observations do not establish the exact words of an unheard soundtrack.

Accept or refine the script
Review the proposed script. Choose Use this script in guided mode when it is right, or ask for a specific revision in chat before continuing.

A useful tip
Keep your source available until its upload completes. Ask for the reference’s useful structure while developing your own story.
If something goes wrong
Reopen the saved conversation and read its status before sending again. Let active work finish; an unavailable preview or connection does not mean a new generation is needed.
Read first, create when you’re ready
Reading this guide is free. Assistant and Film maker use credits as they work and pause when your balance is insufficient. Guide me pauses for creative review; Just make it continues automatically.
