Before you begin

  • A source video you can use and available credits.
  • A supported clip range; the selected model shows its current limits.

What you’ll achieve: A background-edit request with a clear new environment and supported model settings.

Model choices

For unrestricted AI video background changes, compare Less restrictive edit models such as Wan 3.0 Prime Edit. Check the supported clip length and optional image references, then describe the new environment and what should remain.

Upload your source video

Open Video Editor and choose Upload video or a saved clip. Wait for preparation and duration to finish. Choose a short range with a clear view of the subject so you can judge the change against the original.

Step 1 · Upload video

Step 1: Upload video

100%Zoom, then scroll to inspect a control.
Next step

Choose Change background

Open What would you like to change? and select Change background. This intent opens a scene edit; it does not automatically mask every subject. Review the source range before describing the location you want to create.

Choose the editing model

Open Change model and compare Less restrictive models for an unrestricted editing workflow, or switch to Moderated if that suits your project. This example uses a native written-direction model. Check reference support, duration and resolution before continuing.

Step 3 · Less restrictive

Describe the new environment

In New background, describe the place, light and atmosphere and identify what to preserve. For example: replace the background with a sunlit garden; keep the explorer, olive jacket and original movement. Add an environment reference only when your selected model supports it.

Review settings, price and the result

Open Settings to check the selected range, resolution, audio and whether to return the selected section or full video. Close Settings, then select Review price. Confirm the quoted edit when ready; inspect the completed result in My edits and download it while keeping your original source.

Step 5 · Review price

A useful tip

Keep the new lighting and camera perspective compatible with the original scene. A single clear setting is easier to evaluate than several different locations in one edit.

If something goes wrong

If the subject or camera changes too much, narrow the requested difference and explicitly identify what stays. Check optional reference limits and shorten the clip to the chosen model's supported range.
