Before you begin
- A signed-in account with available credits.
- A story brief, script or saved film conversation.
What you’ll achieve:
Model choices
Settings lets you choose image and video models for this conversation. Default follows Tong’s current defaults. Model capabilities, content policies and prices still apply, including for unrestricted workflows.
Review the ready scenes
Open Project (View project on phones) to check the scenes and available cut. Identify any scene that still needs work before requesting the final assembly.

Describe the cut in chat
Ask for the intended scene order, trims, framing and audio. Identify the clips to keep; assembling ready media does not require regenerating each scene.

Inspect the assembled film
Play the completed cut from start to finish. In Guide me, approve the cut after checking pacing, framing, transitions and sound.

Download or revise the film
Use Download on the completed result. Request further cut changes in chat; if assembly fails, keep the saved clips and follow its recovery message.

A useful tip
Merge clips remains available when you want to arrange and trim existing Library media directly in the standalone editor.
If something goes wrong
Reopen the saved conversation and read its status before sending again. Let active work finish; an unavailable preview or connection does not mean a new generation is needed.
Read first, create when you’re ready
Reading this guide is free. Assistant and Film maker use credits as they work and pause when your balance is insufficient. Guide me pauses for creative review; Just make it continues automatically.
